P.O. Box 304, Highland, Michigan 48357 April 18, 2000 L34
Dear Mrs. Chivinsky: We believe that you, as a member of the D.L.P.O.A., are interested in preserving the integrity of our unique Greenbelt and walkways just as other lot owners are. The D.L.P.O.A. Board is trying very hard to maintain that integrity by carrying out periodic inspections of the Greenbelt and walkways. A recent inspection has revealed that an area of the greenbelt between posts 14 and 15 has grass and tulips growing on it. A boat was also noted. The boat was moved onto your driveway. It is very difficult to determine the line between posts 14 and 15 because of the topography. This past winter the Board hired a surveyer to more precicely determine this line. The Board plans on putting additional 4x4 wooden posts so that we can more clearly see the property line. After this is done we ask that you refrain from any additional mowing/fertilizing of the grass in this area. You may remove your tulips if you like. We would also like to offer you the opportunity to meet with our native plants landscaper to help plan the reforestation of this area. This landscaping will be done at the Board’s expense. If you are interested in this opportunity, please include your phone number in your reply. As part of the Board’s effort to inform the neighborhood of our actions we are posting this letter on our web site, dunhamlake.org. If you would like your reply to be posted here please include that information in your letter. If you have any questions or concerns please come to the next Board
meeting, which will be held May 8 at the main park at 7:30. If it is raining
we will go to Clyde Manion’s house, 1560 Blue Heron. In addition,
please send a written reply to the above address within two weeks of receiving
this letter. In your reply please let us know if you will be removing
the tulips.
Sincerely, Diane L. Hallinen, Greenbelt
