Perimeter Walk 2008

The perimeter walk was held May 6, starting at 9:00 am.  Jeff Masters and the author of this report, Diane Hallinen, started the walk on the Livingston side.  Jeff left when we got to the Oakland side and Carol VanSpybrook joined in.  We had nice weather, and saw only minor encroachments, YEA!

Our first concern was near post 76 near Lot 86.  We found a cut brush pile that appeard to be on the greenbelt. It was difficult to be certain since we only had two walkers and the posts are pretty far apart here.

A nice letter was sent.

Our second concern was a leaf pile between posts 63 and 64 near Lot 77.  A letter was sent.

Our last letter goes out to Lot 92.  We found a pile of cut logs lying on one of our horizontal cedars near post 88. There were also a couple of other piles of logs. We sent a letter.

We are not certain if  the owners of Lot 92 are responsible, but we know we didn't put the pile there.  It didn't look like power company work either. We certainly saw a ton of hacked up trees and log piles that were clearly the work of the power company all along the power lines.

The area surrounded by posts 301 to 307 was not inspected this spring.  The area will require a mid summer visit as asian bittersweet was noted to be growing in the area last year.
