2014 Common Area Perimeter Report

This year's inspection was done over three days, May 19, 20 and 21. In attendance for all three days was Diane Hallinen, who is the author of this report. Also in attendance for parts of the walks were Carole Gannon, Terry Gannon and Jeffrey Masters.

The inital area of concern was between posts 9 and 10. There are a few hostas that appear to be planted very close to the perimeter line. No letter was sent.

Between posts 15 and 16 norway maples were noted to be cut. A lot owner had a permit in 2013 to do this work. This permit is now expired.

Between posts 33 and 34 there are concrete blocks. This is not an encroachment, they were going to be use to fix the steps.

Between posts 20 and 31 there is a pathway that is currently flooded. This is not an encroachment.

By post 100 there is some significant erosion. Some local dead wood was put in the area of erosion in attempt to make some check dams that will hopefully slow down water flow during the next storm. This gulley drains a significant area, and is noted to continue on to the lake.

Post 106 is missing

Near post 114 is an infestation of garlic mustard.

By post 88 there is a large pile of glossy buckthorn debris that was placed there in 2013. It appears that this pile now has additional material. A picture was taken and this pile will be watched. Per the Common Area rules, lot owners are not allowed to dump vegetation on the greenbelt.

Between posts 13 and 14, construction retention material extends into the Greenbelt. There also appears to be a failure of the retention material.

Tomato cages were found on the Greenbelt near post 82. These were removed by the landowner who was actively working on his lawn and stated they had just been placed there. No letter will be sent.

Between posts 76 and 77 wood chips were found on the greenbelt. Lot owners are not allowed to place woodchips or other material on foot paths that lead from personal property through the greenbelt. Between posts 75 and 76 a corner of a dog house appears to be on the Greenbelt. A letter was sent.

Between posts 72 and 73 it was noted that a garden fence is along the perimeter line. As this lot owner has a history of encroachments, a picture was taken of this area. No active encroachments were noted.

Between posts 72 and 69 there is an access path from the street to the Greenbelt. I collected a pile of trash from this path.

Between posts 56 and 57 aproximately one foot of mowing into the Greenbelt was noted. A letter was sent.

Between posts 49 and 50 a row of trees have orange ribbons around them . The lot owner is requenting that they be allowed to cut these trees. All but three of the trees appear to be on the lot owner's property. These three trees now have yellow ribbons on them and a note to the lot owner that these trees are not to be removed.

Between posts 47 and 48 there is very little vegetation. This would be a good area for planting in the near future.
